A fresh new chapter for Mission Valley’s beloved mall.

A new look, a new name
and a whole lot to celebrate!

We had the best time bringing The Valley's grand reopening to life. We celebrated the mall's transformation with a full day of food, music, art, entertainment, and all things community.

Our team at MELI worked alongside some of our favorite creative partners to dream up a celebration that felt like an extension of The Valley's new identity. Think colorful custom backdrops, playful signage, branded stages, florals, and fun little moments throughout the property.

We kicked things off with a kombucha toast and remarsk from Mayor Todd Gloria and Councilmember Stephen Whitburn, followed by Taste of The Valley, where guests got to explore some of the center's newest food and beverage spots, including Philz Coffee, Panera, Encuentro, The Stand, AMC, and more.

The afternoon was all about family fun! We had music, magic, bubbles, face painting and local artist Emily Henderson drawing portaits We also brought in live music, cultural performances, interactive experiences, and community organizations like the San Diego River Park Foundation, who gave away free native flower seeds. We wrapped up the day with happy hour, more live music, and plenty of dancing. Full hearts, full bellies, and a whole lot of fun until the sun went down!

The best part? Seeing the community show up to celebrate a fresh chapter for a place that's been part of generations of San Diegans' stories. We're so excited for what's ahead for The Valley and all the new businesses calling it home!
